FLORENCE, Ala. (November 21, 2025) – The University of North Alabama women's basketball team welcomes an old foe to CB&S Bank Arena on Saturday, Nov. 22, facing West Alabama at 6 p.m.
The former Gulf South Conference rivals meet on the court for the first time since UNA's move to Division I in 2018. Coming off two tough road losses, the Lions look to remain unbeaten in home games this season with a 3-0 record in "The Bank."
Fans can catch the game on ESPN+ with "Voice of the Lions" Benjamin Ray and Arielle Schafer on the call and Chase Glover as the courtside reporter. Due to multiple events, there will not be a radio broadcast of this game.

Fans are encouraged to arrive early for the game, as parking is limited due to ongoing construction. As such, the lot near the Hal Self Athletic Annex will be unavailable. Violators will be towed if parked in the construction zone.
Lots A and B will be in the parking lot directly below Flowers Hall. Lot A pass holders will have coned off spots near the staircase. Shuttles will be available to take fans up to the field house lot for entry into CB&S Bank Arena.
Lot C parking will be in the parking lot below the Mitchell Burford Science and Technology Building. Residential Students will have access into Lot C with their hang tags. The public can also park in this lot for $12. Parking at the Bill Jones athletic complex will be unavailable. However, this lot is available as a drop off area near the arena.
Limited handicap parking will be available in front of the CB&S Bank Arena ticket office.

SERIES HISTORY: North Alabama and West Alabama play for the 82nd time in series history. Saturday will be the first meeting since Feb. 27, 2018. UNA leads the series 42-39 and has won six of the previous seven meetings. UNA has played West Alabama more than any other opponent, with UAH ranking second with 78 all-time meetings.
LAST TIME OUT: North Alabama suffered a narrow defeat to Tennessee State last time out, dropping the road bout in Nashville, 82-76. The tight contest had six ties and four lead changes with both teams battling for all four quarters. Despite the defeat, senior Alexsandra Alvarado tallied a season-high 26 points on 62.5 percent shooting. Freshman Gabby Jackson set a new mark in rebounding with 13 against the Lady Tigers.
SCOUTING THE LIONS: The Lions enter the weekend tied for fourth in the overall standings of the Atlantic Sun Conference with a 3-2 record. UNA shoots 37.7 percent from the field while holding opponents to 34.5 percent shooting. UNA holds slight advantages in three-point shooting percentage (.256 to .250), rebounds (214-210) and steals (42-38). North Alabama's strength is in assists and blocks, leading 66-46 in assists and 24-16 in blocks. The Lions continue to be a strong third quarter team, outscoring opponents 80-62 through five games.
SCOUTING WEST ALABAMA: The Tigers travel to Florence with a 2-0 record. West Alabama opened with a season-opening 75-69 win against Spring Hill College before claiming an 86-69 triumph over Clark Atlanta last week. The Tigers finished the 2024-25 season with a 4-22 overall record and 4-18 record in the GSC. West Alabama was picked to finish 10th in the 2025-26 GSC Preseason Poll. Five Tigers average at least 10 points per game, led by Kendall Lacoste with 16.5. Bellah Machen (13 PPG), Haley Nichols (11), Shay Hunter (11) and Callie Cowan (11) additionally average double-digits in scoring. Tiffany Morton is West Alabama's head coach.
AMONG THE RANKS: North Alabama ranks in the top three in ASUN statistics in four categories. The Lions are second in blocks (4.80 per game) while third in opponent three-point percentage (25 percent), opponent free-throw percentage (75.4 percent) and offensive rebounds (14.2 per game).
RIGHT UP HER ALLEY: Alvarado leads the team in scoring with 14.2 points per game on 47.3 percent shooting. She is UNA's current three-pointers made leader with 12 at a 36.4 percent clip. She is fourth in the ASUN in three-pointers made per game, fifth in field goal percentage and 10th in the ASUN in scoring average. Defensively, Alvarado is tied for 10th in steals per game (1.6).
SOFIA SHINES: Sophomore Sofia Ceppellotti is second on the team in scoring at 11.7 points per game. She leads the team in three-point percentage (42.9 percent) and second in rebounds (6.3 per game), field-goal percentage (52 percent) and made three pointers (six). The Italy native had a near-double-double effort against UT Martin with 11 points and nine rebounds while going 3-5 behind the arc. She had a career day against Fisk, scoring a career-high 16 points with a game-high seven rebounds.
MCNAMARA MAKES WAVES: Junior Cameron McNamara is third for the Lions in scoring at 11.2 points per game on 48.8 percent shooting. McNamara led in points (13), rebounds (10), assists (4) and steals (3) in her first UNA game against UT Martin, following up with a 15-point, six-rebound effort against Fisk. McNamara secured a second-straight 15-point outing versus Jacksonville State. The junior is also one of the more consistent free-throw shooters in the conference, averaging 88.9 percent to rank third.
GABBY GETS IT!: Jackson is the team leader in rebounds with 36 for a 7.2 average. She has had five rebounds in all but one game with a season-high 13 last time out at Tennessee State. Jackson also tallied season highs in points (seven) and steals (two) against the Lady Tigers. The Kansas City, Mo. native ranks eighth in rebounds per game.
BIG ON BUKKY: Graduate Bukky Akinsola has shown veteran leadership in multiple parts of the game. Averaging 6.2 points per game, Akinsola has made her mark in the playmaking and defense category. She has the team-high in total assists (14) while tied for the team high in steals (eight). Akinsola is tied for ninth in the ASUN in steals per game (1.6) and tied for 14th in assists per game (2.8).
KATIE CLAMPS: Junior Katie Criswell is the current blocks leader on the team with six across five games. She has registered a block in every game so far with two against Fisk on Nov. 6. Her 1.2 average ranks sixth in the ASUN.
BEST OF THE BEST: Along with conference ranks, Alvarado and McNamara rank among the top 100 nationally in respective categories. McNamara is 80th in free-throw percentage while Alvarado's 12 three-pointers rank 85th.
