LAST TIME OUT:
The Lions concluded their final road bouts of the regular season last time out, going 2-0 in action versus EKU and Queens. North Alabama opened the weekend with a 5-2 triumph over the Colonels, following up with a 7-0 sweep over the Royals. The Queens victory was the 15th for the Lions, tying the Division I program record for season wins.

SCOUTING THE LIONS: North Alabama preps for its home finale Sunday morning with the Lions 16-3 overall and 7-1 in the ASUN on the season. UNA enters the weekend in a two-way tie for first with Stetson as both teams sport a 7-1 conference record. The Lions are winning 69.8 percent of doubles matches (30-13) and 71.3 percent of singles bouts (67-27). Leading the way in doubles win is junior Eeva Ristola with 14, with senior Stanislava Bobrovnikova (11) and sophomore Ada Karabacak (10) also securing double-digit doubles victories. Ristola and Bobrovnikova lead the team from the top flight with an 11-2 doubles record. Four players carry double-digit singles victory totals, led by Karabacak (15), Bobrovnikova (13), junior Senem Ocal (12) and sophomore Mathilde Delaney (11).

TICKET PUNCHED: UNA is returning to postseason after a two-year hiatus, with the Lions clinching a berth in the 2025 ASUN Tournament on April 4. North Alabama secured its spot after the road win at EKU, marking the program's third appearance in the tournament in seven seasons of Division I.

KARABACAK CAME PREPARED: Karabacak was named the ASUN Women's Tennis Player of the Week by the league office on Wednesday, April 9. The sophomore added to her collection with her fourth career weekly award, helping the Lions go 2-0 with wins over the EKU Colonels and Queens Royals to conclude UNA's away schedule. She went 2-0 from the singles second flight against the Colonels and Royals while adding a doubles win against Queens from the third flight.

THE TURNAROUND: In the first four years of UNA's transition from Division II to Division I, UNA totaled 21 wins in women's tennis. In the last three seasons under the direction of Olaya Garrido-Rivas, the Lions have won 37 matches, including 15 in each of the last two seasons. That win total marks the most since winning 17 in 2011. The 15 wins are the third-most in single-season program history. The 2025 team can still build on their total, as the all-time record of 21 was set in 1988.

SCOUTING NORTH FLORIDA: The Ospreys enter with an 11-6 overall record while 6-1 in the ASUN. North Florida closes the weekend with the matchup versus UNA, facing Lipscomb to open on April 11. Last time out, the Ospreys went 1-1 on the weekend with North Florida taking a 5-2 home win on April 4 versus FGCU. They also dropped their first conference matchup all season on April 6, falling to Stetson, 5-2. Prior to the season, the Ospreys were picked to finish tied for second with Lipscomb in the 2025 ASUN Preseason Coaches Poll. North Florida is winning doubles matches at a 60.5 percent rate while victorious in singles at a 55.8 percent rate. Gabby Goyins leads the Ospreys with 11 singles wins while Isabel Oliviera and Nicole Alfaro Solis are tied with a team-leading 10 doubles victories. North Florida's head coach is Catherine Dugan.
