Biography

UNA 2020: de Ruiter started all 23 games at short stop for the Lions last season...went 15-for-59 at the plate for a .254 batting average...had a .458 slugging percentage after hitting four doubles, a triple and two home runs...drove in 11 runs...went 3-for-3 with a pair of RBI on Feb. 28, during a 9-0 win over Northern Illinois.

UNA 2019: She saw action in all 46 games for the Lions in 2019, including 45 starts at short stop…batted .252 with 27 hits, including two doubles, a triple and a home run on May 8 at Kennesaw State…added 14 RBI, a .616 on-base percentage and a 2-for-2 showing in stolen base attempts…had five multiple-hit games and ended the season on a three-game hitting streak.

COLLEGE: She played two seasons at Pensacola State College for coach Lyndsey Angus...was a second team all-conference pick in 2018 when the Pirates advanced to the state tournament...batted .325 as a sophomore with 41 hits, including six doubles, a triple and 13 RBI.

HIGH SCHOOL: She played on multiple club teams in Canada, including the Team Canada Junior National Team (2017)...was a member of Team BC and won a gold medal at the 2017 Canada Games...was named the 2016 BC Minor Softball Player of the year...also played shortstop for the All Star national championship team in 2016.

PERSONAL: Her full name is Danielle de Ruiter. She is the daughter of Scott and Angela de Ruiter. She was born on February 22, 1998 and has one brother. She is majoring in interdisciplinary studies at UNA.
