Biography

UNA 2021: Hargett played and started in 26 games for UNA…she posted a .268 batting average after going 19-for-71 at the plate…had five doubles, two triples, two home runs and 17 RBI’s…had an on-base percentage of .372 and seven stolen bases on the year...had four multiple-RBI games, including two games with three RBI.

UNA 2020: She played and started 22 games for the Lions in 2020...led the team with a .411 batting average, including four doubles, a triple and a home run...walked eight times and had a .500 on-base percentage...had six multiple-hit and four multiple-RBI games...reached base in each of the last 15 games...tied for the team lead with an eight-game hitting streak.

UNA 2019: She was second on the team with a .303 batting average in 2019…started all 46 games in center field…finished the season with 46 hits, including five doubles and a team-high four triples…recorded a .534 slugging percentage and .762 on-base percentage…was 7-for-9 in stolen-base attempts…drove in 11 runs…had a team-high 12-game hitting streak…produced seven multiple-hit games, including a 4-for-4 showing on May 4, at Jacksonville.

UNA 2018: She started all 53 games in the outfield for the Lions as a true freshman in 2018...batted .365 with eight doubles, two home runs and a team-high four triples...was a second team All-Gulf South Conference selection...had a .506 slugging percentage...led the team with 20 stolen bases...set a school record with a 24-game hitting streak, that was the longest in the nation during the season at the Division II level...reached base in 26 straight games...had 14 multiple-hit games, including a 3-for-3 showing on April 15, at Christian Brothers.

HIGH SCHOOL: She played center field at Hayden High School for coach John Simmons…helped the team to a Class 4A state title in 2013 and state runner-up finish in 2015…was named all-county from 2013-2017 and All-State in 2013 and 2017...finished her career with a .500 batting average...recorded 60 stolen bases…also played basketball and ran indoor track for the Wildcats.

PERSONAL: Her full name is Meleah Kim Hargett. She is the daughter of Kim and Becky Hargett. She was born on November 18, 1998 and has one brother. She is majoring in exercise science at UNA.
