Trevor Mierl

Trevor Mierl joined the University of North Alabama athletics staff in August of 2025 and serves as the Men's Golf Assistant Coach. In his role, he assists the Schmitz Family Head Men's Golf Coach Austin Phillips in day-to-day preparation of the Men's Golf team to contribute to on-course excellence. 

Mierl is from Austin, Texas where he graduated from L.C. Anderson High School before he committed to Cameron University to continue his academic and athletic career. He was a team captain for the Trojans his senior year and finished as runner-up at the Texas State Championship in 2021.

While at Cameron, he learned under now North Alabama head Coach Austin Phillips for two years. 

While a student at Cameron University, Mierl was a standout player. He posted a 73.53 average through 34 rounds for the Aggies which led him to be ranked the 28th best freshman in the region during the 2021-22 season. Mierl finished the year with six top 20 finishes and set the program record for eagles in a season with six. He was named an All-Lone Star Conference Academic All-American and an Honorable Mention All-Lone Star Conference Team. 

After Cameron, he attended the University of Missouri to complete his Bachelor of Arts & Science degree and his athletic career. In his first season with the Tigers he competed in 21 rounds across eight events where he posted a 74.09 stroke average. His highest finish came at the Maui Jim Individual where he finished 13th with a score of 211. He was named to both the SEC First-Year Academic Honor Roll and the GCAA All-America Scholar in 2023-2024. 

Throughout his four years between Cameron and Missouri, he was appointed to the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) where he was active in community outreach while creating strong relational bonds between student-athletes and the community around them. 

Mierl finished Cum Laude with a College of Arts & Sciences: General Studies degree with a minor in Business from the University of Missouri. 

Outside of his collegiate career, Mierl volunteered as a youth golf coach from middle school all the way to college for the Weekly Youth Program, Golf Camps and the College Scholarship Program.
