Biography

UNA 2021: Harper played and started in 36 games for the Lions last season…she posted a .263 batting average while going 26-for-99 at the plate…had four RBI’s and 10 walks on the year raising her team leading on-base percentage to .360…was 17-for-18 in stolen base attempts and a 1.000 fielding percentage...had seven multiple-hit games.

UNA 2020: She saw action in all 23 games for the Lions in 2020, starting every game in the outfield...was second on the team with a .373 batting average after going 25-for-67 at the plate...had three doubles and a triple on the year...led the team with seven multiple-hit games and tied for the team lead with an eight-game hitting streak...was also 14-for-14 in stolen-base attempts.

UNA 2019: She played and started in 33 games as a true freshman for UNA in 2019…was named to the ASUN All-Freshman Team after batting .283 on the year…recorded 30 hits, including a double, a triple and an inside-the-park home run against Jackson State…was named ASUN Player of the Week on Feb. 11…finished the season with nine RBI and a .340 slugging percentage.

HIGH SCHOOL: She played for coach Lonny Drayton at Smyrna High School...helped lead the Bulldogs to the 2017 district championship and a runner-up finish the following year...was a two-time all-district selection in 2017 and 2018...also received first team All-Mid State honors in 2018...named the team's defensive MVP in 2015 and offensive MVP in 2017.

PERSONAL: Her full name is Alexa Renee Harper. She is the daughter of Jennifer Gilbert. She was born on April 25, 2000 and has siblings Camron Harper and Kennadee and Karsen Lawrence. She is majoring in exercise science at UNA.
