FLORENCE, Ala. -- Kennesaw State used a combination of three home runs and 12 walks issued by North Alabama pitchers to down the Lions 11-3 in ASUN Conference baseball action at Mike Lane Field.
The Owls scored in seven of the nine innings and never trailed after scoring two runs in the second inning.
UNA is now 4-24 overall and 3-8 in ASUN play. Kennesaw State is now 18-8 overall and 6-2 in the ASUN.
UNA got a solo home run from
Peyton Thomas is the second inning and a two-run blast by
Reid Homan in the ninth for its only runs.
Thomas and Garret Smith led the Lions with two hits each in the game.
UNA starter
Chase Best (1-6) took the loss, allowing six runs, five earned, on six hits with four walks and four strikeouts.
Austin Nichols allowed three runs in two innings of work,
Jacob James gave up two runs in an inning and a third and
Jacob Laws pitched two-thirds of an inning.
The Lions and Owls play the final game of the series on Sunday at 1 p.m.
