FLORENCE, Ala. (May 2, 2025) – The University of North Alabama baseball team dropped what became the first game under the lights at Mike D. Lane Field at Bank Independent Stadium against Lipscomb, 11-3.
North Alabama's first pitch did not hit the strike zone until 8:05 p.m. and the game did not conclude until 11:17 p.m., making it the latest game played this season. This also marked the debut of the stadium's new light system for a game.
The Lions (16-27, 10-12 ASUN) had four of their hits come with two outs, beating out Lipscomb's one hit in the same metric.
The Bisons (21-23, 14-8 ASUN) used a six-run first inning to take ahold of the lead. They used five more runs across four innings to finish out the game.
UNA had eight hits for the game, as the entire lineup but the nine hole hitter notched a hit.

Matthew Delgado and
Petey Craska all plated for a run on the evening.
Second baseman
Jonathan Lane recorded one hit for the game, which moved him into a tie for fourth all-time with UNA Athletic Hall of Famer Josh Willingham for 205 career hits. The senior also added two RBIs to his total.
North Alabama threw three pitchers with the freshman left-handed pitcher
Tripp Patterson earning the start as he went four innings with five strikeouts.
Patterson struck out the side during the third inning, with two Bisons swinging and one looking in only 13 pitches.
Hunter Bell stepped in and went 2.2 innings before
Kyle Lewis finished out the night game with 2.1 innings of work as he added two strikeouts.
