HUNTSVILLE – Three players reached double digits in scoring for UAH as the Chargers posted a 58-51 Gulf South Conference victory over the University of North Alabama women's basketball team Saturday afternoon at Spragins Hall. With the loss, UNA closes out the 2015-16 season with a 5-22 overall record and 4-18 mark in GSC play.

UNA held a 30-29 lead with 1:27 remaining in the second quarter following a three-point basket by Brynn Holden. The Chargers, however, got two baskets to close the half and take a 33-30 lead into the break. The Lions could never regain the advantage.

UAH led by as many as eight in the second half and could never put the game out of reach. The Chargers led 42-34 early in the second half and took a 45-42 lead into the fourth quarter.

The Lions got within a single point with 4:03 remaining. A basket by Elise Holden capped a 9-3 run to make the score 52-51. North Alabama, however, would not score again. UAH hit 6-of-8 free throws down the stretch to seal the victory.

Freshman Katelyn Nunley finished with 13 points to lead UNA. She was the only player to reach double figures for the Lions. Janae Lyde wrapped up her three-year career at UNA with seven points and a game-high 10 rebounds. She also dished out a game-high six assists.

UAH (15-11 overall, 12-10 GSC) was led by Dina Saunders' 17 points and nine rebounds.
