UNA MEN OPEN ASUN PLAY WITH 6-1 LOSS TO LIPSCOMB

FLORENCE – Lipscomb won the doubles point before winning five of the six singles match to post a 6-1 victory over the University of North Alabama men's tennis team Saturday in the ASUN opener for both schools. With the loss, UNA falls to 1-11 on the season and 0-1 in ASUN play.
 
A 6-1 and 6-4 victory at the top two doubles spots gave the Bisons (6-8 overall, 1-0 ASUN) the early lead. Lipscomb then recorded three singles wins in straight sets to clinch the match.
 
Oscar Meslin gave UNA its only point at No. 2 singles. The freshman from Velaux, France, rallied from a 6-3 loss in the opening set to post two straight wins. He extended the match with a 6-2 victory in the second set before posting a 10-6 win in the tiebreaker.
 
The North Alabama men will remain at home to host Liberty Sunday. The ASUN matchup is set to begin at 1:30 p.m. at the UNA Varsity Tennis Courts.
