BEACH VOLLEYBALL SPLITS IN LAKELAND

LAKELAND, Fla., – The University of North Alabama beach volleyball team split a pair of five-set matches in Lakeland over the weekend, knocking off Lincoln Memorial 3-2 before falling to host Florida Southern by the same score. With the split UNA is now 4-6 on the season.
 
Against LMU posted wins at the No. 1, No. 4 and No. 5 spots at the Ruthven Beach Courts.
 
The host Mocs were able to outlast UNA in the second match to stretch their winning streak to four. Ana Gabriela Pacheco and Genesis Benítez got the Lions on the board with a 21-17, 21-16 win at the No. 5 position. Sophia Brandstetter and Paula Klemperer also posted a win with a 21-15, 24-22 victory at the top spot.
 
UNA will play two matches at Austin Peay on Thursday. The two teams are set to play a double-header at 2 and 4 p.m. on the ASPU campus in Clarksville, Tenn.
