LYNCHBURG, Va. -- After 84 scoreless minutes, Liberty broke through with a goal to down North Alabama 1-0 in ASUN Conference women's soccer action at Osborne Stadium.
Liberty out-shot UNA six to three in the first half but the half ended with the match tied 0-0.
The Flames held UNA without a shot opportunity over the final 45 minutes and got the game-winning goal at the 84:17 mark when Meredith King made a long run to the top of the box and put the ball past UNA goalkeeper
Payton Yates.
Yates recorded four saves for the Lions in her 90 minutes in goal.
UNA is now 1-4 overall and 0-2 in ASUN Conference play.
North Alabama hosts Bellarmine on Thursday at 1 p.m. .
