FLORENCE, Ala. --
Katherine Laroche scored a goal in the 74th minute to break a 2-2 tie and give the University of North Alabama a 3-2 win over Jackson State at the Bill Jones Athletic Complex.
The start of the match was delayed almost two hours due to storms and ended just after 11 p.m.
Jackson State got a goal from Annalise Brunson at the 19:35 mark to take a 1-0 lead, but UNA tied it just three minutes later on a goal from
Kira Schuster. The goal was Schuster's first of the year and came off an assist from
Hope Lensing.
Lensing then put the Lions on top at the 36:38 mark, with
Kate Wiseman assisting.
UNA held the lead until an own goal at 71:07 tied the match at 2-2.
Laroche's goal at 73:57 off an assist from
Mia Staley provided the final 3-2 margin.
UNA is now 1-6-2 with the win, while Jackson State falls to 1-6-0.
