MEN’S TENNIS COMES UP SHORT AT MEMPHIS

MEMPHIS, Tenn., - A 7-0 loss at Memphis on Saturday dropped the University of North Alabama men's tennis team's overall record to 0-8 on the season.
 
The Tigers took the early lead in doubles play with 6-1, 6-3, and 4-3 wins in the No. 1, No. 2 and No. 3 matches respectively.
 
Memphis went on to clinch the match in singles play with straight sets victories at No. 3, No. 5 and No. 1. The Lions had their best showing at No. 2 singles. Playing in the final match of the day, Carlos Matarredona split the first two sets 3-6 and 6-3. Memphis then edged out a 7-5 win to complete the sweep.
 
UNA will play its next match at Alabama State on Feb. 25. Match time is set at 2 p.m. at the Olean Black Underwood Tennis Center in Montgomery.
