WESTERN KENTUCKY GETS 5-2 TENNIS WIN OVER UNA WOMEN

BOWLING GREEN, Ky., - The University of North Alabama lost a close contest to Western Kentucky on Sunday 5-2. The loss keeps UNA winless on the season at 0-10 while the Hilltoppers improve to 6-3.
 
Western Kentucky took an early lead by winning two doubles matches. The Hilltoppers won 6-3 at the No. 3 spot and 6-1 at the No.1 spot. The No. 2 match went unfinished with WKU holding a slime 4-3 lead.
 
After the Hilltoppers clinched the overall match with wins at the No. 1, No. 5 and No. 6 singles, UNA was able to win two of the final three in singles play.
 
Sydney Flesch posted a 6-3, 4-6, 1-0 victory at the No. 2 position. She posted a 10-5 win in the tiebreaker. Juliette Talieu then went on to have a three-set victory at No. 3 singles. She split the first two sets before picking up a 10-8 win in the tiebreaker.
 
UNA will play its next match at UAB on March 1. Match time is set at 2 p.m. at the Lakeshore Foundation Tennis Center in Birmingham.
