NASHVILLE, Tenn., - The University of North Alabama women's tennis team held leads of 1-0 and 2-1 at Lipscomb on Sunday before the home team rallied to post a 4-3. With the loss, the Lions fall to 2-13 on the season and 0-2 in ASUN play. Lipscomb improves to 5-8 on the year and 1-1 in ASUN play.

UNA led 1-0 after doubles play. Juliette Talieu and Kalais Going recorded a 6-2 win at the No. 2 position. Sydney Flesch and Lee-Taylor Bishop then won 6-3 at No. 3 doubles to capture the overall point. The Lions also held a 4-3 lead at No. 1 when doubles play was stopped.

Singles play was a back-and-forth affair with Lipscomb coming out on top in the end. After the Bisons tied the match with a straight-sets win at No. 1 singles, Kalais Going won 6-1, 6-3 at the No. 4 spot to give the lead back to the Lions.

Lipscomb then grabbed a 3-2 lead with a pair of wins at the bottom of the lineup. A 6-3, 6-4 victory by Sydney Flesch at No. 2 tied the overall match at 3-3 and set the stage for the deciding point at No. 3 singles.

The Bisons rallied to win the opening set 7-6 (7-6) before a 6-2 victory in the second set clinched the match for the home team.

UNA will continue conference play with its next match against Central Arkansas. Match time is set for 1 p.m. at the UNA Varsity Tennis Courts.
