MONTGOMERY – A second straight victory has given the University of North Alabama women's tennis team a 2-11 record on the season. UNA did not yield a single point during a 7-0 victory over Mississippi Valley State Wednesday at Montgomery's Olean Black Underwood Center.

Two quick wins in doubles play gave the Lions the early lead. Payton Andrews and Gabriela Cevallos won 6-0 at the No. 1 spot. Kalais Going and Nicole Reilly won 6-0 at the No. 2 spot the clinch the overall doubles point. The Lions were also ahead 4-0 at No. 3 doubles when play was stopped.

In singles play, Andrews, Going, Cevallos, Reilly, Lee-Taylor Bishop and Makayla Loubser all posted 6-0, 6-0 victories.

UNA will play its next match against Austin Peay on Friday, March 11. Match time is set at 2 p.m. at the Governors Tennis Center in Clarksville, Tenn.
