MEN’S TENNIS FALLS TO NORTH FLORIDA IN ASUN PLAY

JACKSONVILLE, Fla., - After winning the doubles point, North Florida swept through singles play to secure the 7-0 ASUN Conference men's tennis win over North Alabama on Friday. With the loss the Lions fall to 3-14 overall and 1-4 in ASUN matches. North Florida improves to 14-6, including a 5-1 mark in ASUN play.
 
North Florida jumped out to a quick 1-0 lead after doubles play. After being victorious 6-2 in both the No. 1 and No. 3 positions, North Florida secured the overall doubles point. No. 2 doubles went unfinished with Guilherme Diniz and Jamie Bixby leading 5-3.
 
In singles play, the Ospreys won at No. 6 and No. 4 before securing the match in the No. 5 spot with a 6-4, 6-1 victory. UNA then won the remaining three matches to close out the match.
 
UNA will continue conference play at Stetson on Sunday, April 10. Match time is set for 10 a.m. at the Mandy Stoll Tennis Center on the Stetson campus in DeLand, Fla.
