NEW ORLEANS, La. -- In a match originally scheduled to be played on Sunday, the University of North Alabama women's tennis team dropped a 7-0 decision at New Orleans.

The Privateers claimed the doubles point with wins at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles, then swept the six singles matches.

UNA's Kalais Going (No. 3) and Valeria San Miguel (No. 4) took their matches to three sets, while Juliette Talieu (No.1), Martina Paladini (No.2) and Ana Josic (No.5) had close competitive matches.

"Even though the score was 7-0, the match was closer than it looked," said UNA head coach Olaya Garrido-Rivas. We had some opportunities in doubles but weren't able to start 1-0 up, then in singles most of the girls competed. It was a matter of a couple of points here and there and the score could have been different. The biggest takeaway us that we need more discipline, consistency and daily effort in order for us to beat these teams. It is not enough to show up and put up a fight the day of. We learned from our mistakes and now we'll focus on doing a better job against Nicholls State tomorrow."
