MEMPHIS, Tenn. --
Sidney Bevis had three hits and drove in three runs, while freshman
Hannah Price got her fourth win of the year in helping lead the North Alabama softball team to a 6-1 win over Memphis in the Blues City Classic. The Lions lost earlier in the day to Pittsburgh, 3-1.
UNA will play Indiana State at 9:00 a.m. Saturday and Pittsburgh again at 11:30. The Lions will play their final game in the tournament on Sunday at 1:30 against Memphis.
In Friday's win over Memphis, the Tigers took a 1-0 lead with a run in the second inning.
North Alabama took a 2-1 lead in the third, scoring two runs after there were two outs.
Mckenzie Patterson singled and moved to second on an error. She scored on
Felicity Frame RBI-single and Frame scored on a
Sidney Bevis RBI-single.
UNA added three runs in the fourth inning.
Brooke Burback was hit-by-pitch and
Haven Kirby singled.
Gracie Benton doubled in one run, a second scored on a fielder's choice by Frame and the final run came home on another Bevis RBI-single.
The Lions added an insurance run in the sixth when Frame reached on a fielder's choice, stole second and scored on a third RBI-single by Bevis.
The Lions out-hit the Tigers 12 to four.
Price pitched a complete seven inning game, allowing just one run on five hits with two walks and four strikeouts.
Pitt and North Alabama were scoreless through the first three innings before the Panthers scored a run on a bunt single in the fourth.

Pitt added an insurance runs with a solo home run in the fifth inning and another run in the sixth inning to make the score 3-1.

UNA got its only run in the game in the bottom of the sixth inning on a solo home run by
Georgia Land. It was her fifth of the season and 27th of her career.
UNA out-hit Pitt 7-4.
North Alabama starter
Maci Birdyshaw (6-1) took the loss. She allowed three runs on four hits over six complete innings.
