FLORENCE, Ala. -- North Alabama's five-game ASUN Conference winning streak came to an end Saturday as North Florida pitchers held the Lions to just one run in two games, sweeping a double-header from the Lions 2-0 and 4-1 at the Hilda B. Anderson Softball Complex.
UNA is now 24-11 overall and 6-8 in the ASUN.
In the opening game, UNA held North Florida to just four hits but the Lions couldn't score any runs of their own. UNA left runners on base in five of the seven innings and were held to seven hits. It was the first time that UNA had been shutout since March 18.
UNF scored single runs in the fifth and seventh innings for the win.
Elena Escobar (8-3) took the loss for UNA.
In the second game, North Florida got two solo home runs and built a 4-0 lead before UNA broke through with a run in the bottom of the seventh inning.

The Lions and Ospreys will play the final game of the series Sunday at noon.
