FLORENCE, Ala. – Down 7-4 in the tenth inning, the North Alabama softball team rallied for three runs to force a 7-7 tie in the final game of an ASUN Conference series with North Florida. The game was halted after 10 innings due to North Florida travel timing issues.
North Alabama is now 24-11-1 overall and 6-8-1 in the ASUN.
The Lions had taken a 3-2 lead in the bottom of the fourth inning on a two-run home run by
Danielle Taitt. North Florida scored a run in the top of the seventh to make it 3-3 and force extra-innings.
Each team scored a run in the eighth and North Florida scored three in the top of the tenth for a 7-4 lead. In the bottom of the tenth,
Georgia Land drove in a run to make it 7-5 and Taitt drove in another run on a sacrifice fly.
Felicity Frame then put a ball in play to third base and the UNF first baseman dropped the throw, allowing the tying run to score. The Ospreys managed to halt the Lions there.
UNA had 14 hits in the game, led by Land who went 4-for-5 with a run scored and two runs driven in. Taitt and
Gracie Benton had two hits each.
