CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. --
Felicity Frame had four hits and
Hannah Price pitched a complete game as the University of North Alabama softball completed a three-game sweep of an ASUN Conference series at Austin Peay with a 6-2 win.
After taking a double-header from the Governors on Saturday, the Lions scored a run in the first inning of the series finale and never looked back. UNA held a 6-0 lead in the sixth inning and settled for the 6-2 final. UNA out-hit APSU 10 to six in the game.
With the sweep, North Alabama is now 27-11-1 overall and 9-8-1 in the ASUN.
In the first inning, Frame reached on an error and later scored on a
Gracie Benton RBI-single.
In the third,
Hailey Jones and
Georgia Land both singled and
Haven Kirby drove in both runners with a two-run single.
The Lions added three runs in the sixth inning as
Danielle Taitt singled, Frame singled and
Sidney Bevis was hit-by-pitch to load the bases. Jones two-run single made it 5-0 and a Benton sacrifice fly drove in Bevis for the final UNA run.
Price (6-3) got the win, pitching seven innings and allowing two runs on six hits with one walk and three strikeouts.
For the weekend, Land hit .857 with six hits three runs scored and four runs driven in. In 12 total plate appearances she reached base 10 times, with four walks and a sacrifice fly.
North Alabama hosts Queens in its final home series of the season beginning on Saturday, April 29.
