TEMPE, Ariz. (November 25, 2025) – North Alabama Men's Tennis student-athletes Alberto Altur and Izan Orgiles were announced as receiving national rankings from the Intercollegiate Tennis Association on Tuesday.

The two are ranked No. 73 nationally in the national doubles rankings. Altur is also ranked in singles, securing the No. 111 spot. This marks first time UNA has had individuals ranked in the Division I era — since 2018.

"I am very proud to see how Alberto and Izan are developing," said UNA men's tennis coach Aitor Reparaz.

Both Altur and Orgiles had a stellar fall campaigns.

Altur finished with 10 wins in five fall events, highlighted by representing the Atlantic Sun Conference in singles at the ITA Conference Masters Championships on Nov. 6-9. Prior to this, he secured his spot in the tournament by going 5-0 at the Conference Individual Tournament from Oct. 24-26 in Jacksonville, Fla.

Altur additionally picked up two wins each at the Blue Gray Classic from Sept. 12-14 and ITA Regionals from Oct. 9-14. He won his lone match at the ITA Conference Masters Championships via retirement.

In doubles, Orgiles and Altur have nine wins, culminating the fall at the ITA Conference Masters Championships. The two punched their ticket to San Diego after going 4-0 at the Conference Individual Tournament.

The pair finished with at least one win in all five fall events. Orgiles and Altur took third in the opening Blue Gray Classic in the Gray draw. The duo also had one win each at the Battle of the Plains from Oct. 3-5 along with the ITA Regionals and ITA Conference Masters Championships.

Altur and Orgiles look to lead the Lions in Spring 2026, starting with the ITA Kickoff Weekend on Jan. 23-24 at Ohio State. The Lions will join the Buckeyes, Purdue and Old Dominion.
