FLORENCE, Ala. (December 10, 2025) – The United Athletic Conference announced its All-Academic team for the 2025 season on Wednesday, as University of North Alabama student-athletes Cameron Jamar and Drew Lawson were both voted to the team.
 
The UAC All-Academic team includes 11 players and is voted on by the league's sports information directors. To be eligible for nomination, players must have played in at least 90 percent or started 66 percent of games, must be at least a sophomore athletically and academically and must maintain at least a 3.50 GPA.
 
This marks seven honorees for UNA over the last three seasons. Jamar and Lawson — two in-state products from Madison County — are both first time honorees.
 
Jamar is a redshirt senior defensive back from New Market, Ala. He joined the Lions in 2021 after a successful high school career at Buckhorn. After redshirting in 2021 and playing limited snaps in 2022, he played in 34 games over his final three seasons. He started eight games for the Lions as a safety this season, totaling 30 tackles. He recovered two fumbles with one at Austin Peay and one against West Georgia.
 
Jamar is a master's student majoring in Applied Manufacturing Engineering.
 
Lawson joined the Lions this season after spending the previous four at Southern Miss playing for UNA Hall of Fame quarterback Will Hall. Lawson was a team captain for the Golden Eagles in 2024 and was one of 52 players on the 2024 Jason Witten Collegiate Man of the Year Watch List.
 
As a Lion this season, Lawson started all 12 games at center and allowed just one sack all season. He played over 800 snaps and graded 80 percent or higher on the offensive line in 11 of his 12 games. He also graded above 90 percent six times. The former Bob Jones High School standout won UNA Offensive Lineman of the Week three times this season.
 
Lawson — a Madison, Ala. native — is pursuing a master's degree in Math Education Grades 6-12.
