PEARL, Miss. (February 23, 2025) – The University of North Alabama baseball team had game three of its three-game set with the Saint Louis Billikens canceled due to heavy rain on Sunday, Feb. 23 in Pearl, Miss.
The Lions moved up Sunday's game time to 11 a.m. from 12 p.m. to try and avoid the rain with both teams having long trips ahead of them to return home. However, the radar showed rain most of the day and forced the cancelation.
The Lions were shutout in game one, 5-0 against the Billikens to which they nearly returned the favor in game two with an 8-1 win.
From game one to game two, the Lions doubled their hits while putting up seven RBIs to go along with it. Freshman left-hander Tripp Patterson carved up the Billikens with seven strikeouts in six innings of work. Senior shortstop Leighton Jenkins went 2-for-3 from the plate and had two RBIs.
The Lions now jump up to 3-3 on the year with two wins against Army and one against the Billikens this weekend.
