OXFORD, Miss. (March 2, 2025) – The No. 74 University of North Alabama men's tennis team fell in their road-trip finale against the No. 64 Ole Miss Rebels on Saturday March 1.

In the first meeting against a ranked opponent this season, the No. 74 Lions concluded its trip with a formidable opponent in the No. 64-ranked Rebels. UNA carried its four-dual win streak into Oxford, and the Lions started strong with a doubles win from the top flight.

Sophomores Alberto Altur and Izan Orgiles took a 6-3 win over the Rebels' Isac Stromberg and Kai Milburn to open play. The victory marked their fourth-straight of the season, with the two still unbeaten with a 5-0 doubles record. The second and third flights would go in favor of Ole Miss with 6-3 victories.

The Rebels clinched the dual with three-straight singles wins, but North Alabama had competitive bouts throughout the field.

Altur and freshman Satoru Nakajima forced a tiebreaker in the opening sets of their respective matches, with Nakajima also forcing Ole Miss's Milburn to win by two in the second set.

Orgiles and junior Lachlan Brain's matches went into the third frame, with both able to take a set in the matchup. Brain and Orgiles were winning in the third set prior to the completion of the dual.

North Alabama moved to 6-3 following the dual against Ole Miss, with the Rebels improving to 10-3 on the campaign.
