Biography

UNA 2020: Garst led the UNA pitching staff with 11 appearances and 58.1 innings pitched last year...she was second in the ASUN Conference with a 1.70 ERA and added 82 strikeouts...had six complete games and four shutouts on the year...struck out 15 of 16 batters faced in five innings of work on Feb. 28, during a 9-0 win over Northern Illinois...reached double figures in strikeouts four times...was named ASUN Pitcher of the Week on March 2.

UNA 2019: She made 29 appearances in the circle in 2019, setting a school record with a 0.83 ERA in UNA’s first season at the NCAA Division I level…posted a 16-6 record on the year and was named first team all-conference, as well as the ASUN Pitcher of the Year…was also an ASUN all-tournament selection…totaled 175 strikeouts, six shutouts and a save…led the conference in ERA, as well as strikeouts-per-seven innings…was a two-time ASUN Pitcher of the Week and became the first pitcher in UNA history to toss consecutive no-hitters, blanking Liberty and Jacksonville in consecutive games.

UNA 2018: She became the first UNA pitcher to receive All-America honors after earning second-team honors by the NFCA and third-team honors by D2CCA...was a first team All-Gulf South Conference selection and was named the GSC Pitcher of the Year. She was also a first team All-South Region pick by D2CCA and the NFCA...finished with a 24-3 record. Recorded a 1.33 earned run average with 176 strikeouts in 163 innings pitched...tossed 37.2 consecutive scoreless innings, including a no-hitter on April 8, against West Georgia...was a four-time GSC Pitcher of the Week.

OTHER COLLEGE: She played one season at Shelton State Community College where she was a second team NJCAA All America selection…holds the school record for lowest single-season earned run average at 0.95…was a first team All-Region XXII selection and also earned regional all-tournament honors.

HIGH SCHOOL: She was the starting pitcher for Cornerstone Christian Academy under head coach April Oakes…helped lead the team a regional championship in 2016 as well as a state runner-up finish…was awarded team MVP in 2015…also lettered in volleyball where she won a state championship in 2016.

PERSONAL: Her full name is Megan Elise Garst. She is the daughter to Bobby and Sherri Garst. She was born on March 16, 1998 and has one sister. She is majoring in exercise science at UNA.
