Chris Blakey enters his fourth season as assistant baseball coach at North Alabama in 2025. The former UNA letterman and student assistant returned to the program after spending the 2021 season as assistant coach at Southern Union State Community College.

Aside from assisting with recruiting, Blakey works mainly with the outfielders and hitters at UNA. He will also be a involved in all aspects of the offensive part of the game.
After playing two seasons at Wallace-Hanceville, Blakey came to UNA as a junior in 2016. He played in 67 games over the next two seasons, including 51 starts in the infield. He added a .213 batting average and drove in 24 runs. In 2018, Blakey served as a student coach for the Lions. Following his playing career, Blakey served as a student coach for the Lions during the 2018 season. He graduated in December of 2018 with a degree in health and physical education.

He spent the 2019 and 2020 seasons as an assistant coach at Bevill State Community College prior to joining the staff at Southern Union, where he coached third base, assisted with scouting and recruiting and assisted with field maintenance.
