Sharin Rivers

Sharin Rivers is in her first season as graduate assistant for the North Alabama women’s basketball program. The Huntsville, Ala., native lettered two years at Shelton State Community College before playing her final two seasons at the University of Alabama.

She helped Shelton State post a 33-1 record, win the ACCC title and advance to the quarterfinals of the 2013 NJCAA Division I tournament. She was a second team All-ACCC as a sophomore and ranked No. 2 in the NJCAA in assist/turnover ratio at 3.4. She averaged 9.2 points, 5.3 assists and 3.0 rebounds per game. At Alabama, she was a Southeastern Conference Academic Honor Roll selection. She played in 58 games, averaging 3.9 points per contest. Her two-year totals include 229 points, 41 three-pointers, 106 rebounds 70 steals and 96 assists.


Rivers prepped at
Sparkman High School where she received first team All-State honors at the Class 6A level. She led the Senators to the 2011 state regional finals and was a member of the 2011 AHSAA All-Star Basketball Team.

She is pursuing a master’s degree in HPER at UNA.
