Biography
OTHER COLLEGE: Gardner played two seasons at Northwest Mississippi Community College for coach Don Edwards...she led the team as a sophomore in rebounding by averaging 7.0 boards per game...also shot 51 percent from the floor while scoring 7.0 points per contest and adding 12 assists, nine blocks and nine steals on the year...closed her career with 16 points and 10 rebounds on Feb. 23 against Itawamba.
HIGH SCHOOL: She played for coach Gary Hentz at Lewisburg High School...averaged just under 18 points and 14 rebounds per game as a senior to lead LHS to the 5A state quarter-finals...finished as the school's all-time leading scorer with more than 1,000 career points...was a two-time first team all-conference selection..also lettered in softball and volleyball, leading the Lady Patriots to the 2014 MHSAA 5A State Volleyball Championship.
PERSONAL: Her full name is Destiny Marie Gardner. She is the daughter of Robert Gardner and Marcella Jones. She was born on February 23, 1997 and has four siblings, Cody, Daniel, Trea and Landon. She is majoring in dental hygiene at UNA.
