2020 BEACH: Shafer saw action in all 12 matches as a true freshman a year ago...she went 6-6 on the season with every match coming at the No. 5 position...had a three-match winning streak in the middle of the year, including a three-set victory against Austin Peay.

HIGH SCHOOL: She played middle blocker and outside hitter at Franklin Road Academy for coach John Stephens...recorded more than 1,000 career kills during indoor volleyball season and was an all-district selection as a senior...has 291 kills, 126 digs, 34 service aces and 53 blocks during her senior season.

PERSONAL: Her full name is Samantha Pierce Shafer. She is the daughter of Mike and Renee Shafer. She was born on October 16, 2000 and has one brother. She is majoring in exercise science at UNA.
