Alex Stutts joined the North Alabama Athletics staff on August 8, 2025 as the assistant head athletic trainer. He is the primary athletic trainer for the men's basketball and men's golf programs.
Prior to UNA, Stutts served as the athletic trainer at Calhoun Community College and at Decatur-Morgan Hospital for two years. He also supervised master's level clinical students at Huntingdon College from June-August 2023. Prior to that, Stutts spent two seasons with Phoenix Physical Therapy supervising the master's level clinical students covering Wetumpka High School.
Stutts began his career at Faulkner University as a clinical intern. He obtained his bachelor's degree in sport management from Faulkner in 2015. He later earned a master's degree in athletic training from Lenoir-Rhyne in 2020. Over that time, he worked with Faulkner and Lenoir-Rhyne's athletic programs, Alabama Christian Academy and Bunker Hill High School. He then began a full-time career at Pro Impact Physical Therapy working with Faulkner in 2021.
Stutts is CPR certified through American Red Cross and is professionally certified through the Board of Certification for the Athletic Trainer and Alabama Board of Athletic Trainers.Â
