SOCCER LIONS FALL 2-0 AT LIPSCOMB

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- The University of North Alabama out-shot Lipscomb 14 to 10 but the Bisons converted on two of their attempts to claim a 2-0 ASUN women's soccer win over the Lions.

With the loss, UNA falls to 9-8 overall and 3-4 in the ASUN, but the Lions are still in contention for one of the two remaining ASUN Tournament post-season spots. With one match remaining at NJIT on Sunday in Newark, N.J., the Lions need a win or a North Florida loss to Liberty to advance.

Kennesaw State, Lipscomb, Florida Gulf Coast and NJIT have wrapped up post-season spots. Liberty, UNA and North Florida remain in the fight for the final two spots.

At Lipscomb, the Bisons Maycie McKay scored  at the 21:15 mark of the first half to give LU a 1-0 lead that it would never relinquish.

Lipscomb added a second goal by Olivia Doak at 78:57 to push its advantage to 2-0.

The loss was North Alabama's second straight and the third time that the Lions have been shutout in their last four matches.

UNA led the ASUN in scoring for much of the season but has scored just two goals in its last six outings.

Lipscomb improved to 11-4-2 with the win and is 6-1 in the ASUN.
