FLORENCE, Ala. -- The University of North Alabama couldn't overcome a sluggish start and dropped a 2-0 decision to Liberty at the Bill Jones Athletic Complex in an ASUN Conference women's soccer match.
The loss drops UNA to 8-6 overall and 2-2 in the ASUN. Liberty improves to 2-9 overall and 1-2 in conference play.
Liberty's Zoe Gaffney scored her first two goals of the season to provide all of the offense in the match. Her first goal came at the 21:27 mark off an assist from Madison Ellis and the second at 76:40 on an assist from Brenna Warren.
North Alabama was out-shot 11 to 10 in the match.

Shelby Thornton had five saves in the match.
North Alabama hosts Jacksonville next Friday (October 12) at 7:00 p.m.
