FLORENCE, Ala. -- The University of North Alabama women's soccer team scored a season-high seven goals and remained unbeaten on the season with a solid 7-1 over Jackson State at the Bill Jones Athletic Complex.
North Alabama, now 3-0, scored in the 18th and 19th minutes for 2-0 lead and held a 3-0 advantage at intermission. The Lions then pushed their lead to 7-0 before the Tigers netted a late goal in the 80th minute.
Shelby Wall led the offensive attack with a goal and three assists and Anna Bove had two goals and one assist.
Margarida Sousa also scored two goals.
Bove put UNA on top 1-0 at 17:04 of the first half with a goal off an assist from Wall. The Lions made it 2-0 just a minute later when Sousa scored off an assist from
Kylie Huey at 18:06.
The next goal came at 38:11 as Huey scored her second goal of the season and 36th of her career at UNA off a lead pass from Wall. Huey is currently ranked third nationally in Division I among active players in career goals scored.
Wall led the second half scoring surge with her first goal at 49:22, assisted by Bove.
Kate Wiseman then scored in the 51st minute, assisted by Wall, and Sousa scored at 59:44 with Wiseman assisting to make it 6-0.
North Alabama's final goal came off the foot of Bove at 63:30 with
Audrey Tanner assisting.
Jalah Carter scored Jackson State's lone goal at 79:31, assisted by Alandria Smith.

Savannah Stewart had one save and played the full 90 minutes in goal.
UNA out-shot the Tigers 25 to four.
The Lions travel to Cookeville, Tenn., to face Tennessee Tech on Sunday at 6 p.m.
