BRIM LEADS MEN’S BASKETBALL TO 66-43 WIN OVER OWLS

KENNESAW, Ga., – North Alabama outscored Kennesaw State 44-18 in the second half to overcome a three-point deficit at the break and post a 66-43 road win Friday night in ASUN Conference men's basketball action. The second straight conference win gives UNA a 6-3 overall record and a 2-1 mark in ASUN play.
 
A pair of baskets by Kennesaw State in the closing moments of the first half gave the home team a 25-22 lead heading into the locker room. The Owls, however, would not score for the first 6:38 of playing time in the second half as UNA opened the period on a 13-0 run.
 
Four different UNA players scored during the spurt. A basket by Emanuel Littles with 13:43 remaining gave the Lions a 35-25 lead and the home team would get no closer than eight points the rest of the way.
 
The two teams traded baskets before the Lions used another 15-2 run to take control. KSU made only one shot from the floor and had five turnovers during a 7:41 stretch. The Owls connected on only 7-of-25 attempts from the floor over the final 20 minutes of play.
 
For the game, UNA forced 19 turnovers and converted them into 22 points. The Lions also held a 40-32 rebounding edge, as well as a 24-15 advantage in bench scoring.
 
North Alabama had 10 different players score on the night, led by C.J. Brim's season-high 19 points. The senior from Tupelo, Miss., was a career-high 9-of-13 from the floor and scored 13 points in the first half alone.  
 
Littles also finished with eight points and added eight rebounds to move into seventh place in program history with 605 career boards. Spencer Rogers led Kennesaw State (3-10 overall, 0-5 ASUN) with 10 points.
 
UNA will remain in Kennesaw to face the Owls again on Saturday. Tip-off is set for 3 p.m. (CST) at the KSU Convention Center.
