LION DEFENDERS BLANK TROJANS IN 0-0 DRAW

MOBILE, Ala. -- In a match delayed twice by weather conditions, the University of North Alabama defenders were up to the challenge as the Lions held Troy scoreless and helped UNA earn a 0-0 draw with the Trojans in women's soccer.

With the draw, North Alabama remains undefeated at 2-0-2 on the season. The Lions have posted three shutouts in their first four matches and have only allowed one opposing goal in 360 minutes on the pitch this fall.

"Both teams had chances to win it," said UNA head coach Chris Walker. It was tough conditions with the two rain delays and extremely hot and humid, but our girls played hard and kept a clean sheet."

North Alabama goalkeeper Payton Yates recorded four saves in the match while posting her third shutout.

UNA had five total shots in the match and two shots on goal from Alana Watts and Hannah Guthrie. Alice Bussey also had a goal chance late.

North Alabama hosts Southern Indiana at home at the Bill Jones Athletic Complex on Thursday, Sept. 1 at 7:00 p.m., and Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Sunday, Sept. 4 at 1:00 p.m.
