CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- In the first meeting between the two schools in men's basketball, Queens University hit 15 three-point baskets and shot 61 percent from the floor to down North Alabama 107-78 in an ASUN Conference contest.
Queens hit 22 of its 35 first half shots and made seven three-point baskets to pull out to a 56-32 lead at intermission
With the loss, North Alabama is now 9-10 overall and 1-5 in ASUN play. Queens is now 13-6 and 3-3 in the ASUN.
The 107 points by Queens were the most points allowed by the Lions in the Division I era and marked the first time that a UNA team had allowed more than 100 points since Lipscomb scored 102 on February 2, 2019.
K.J. Johnson led the Lions with 17 points, while
Detalian Brown added 16,
Will Soucie 12 and
Damian Forrest 10.
UNA led twice early in the first half but the Royals' hot shooting allowed them to steadily extend their lead.
The Lions were 0-for-6 on three-point attempts in the first half and had seven turnovers.
