Box Score CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. -- Chattanooga broke a 1-1 tie with a goal in the 69th minute to hand North Alabama its first loss of the season in a 2-1 decision at the UTC Sports Complex.
The loss snapped UNA's six-match unbeaten streak and drops the Lions to 3-1-3 on the season.
Chattanooga scored the first goal of the match at the 23:03 mark of the first half, snapping a streak of just over 369 minutes in which the Lions had not allowed a goal. In fact, the Lions had only allowed one goal all season entering the match with the Mocs. The goal by Clarissa Salinas put UTC on top 1-0.
North Alabama tied the match just before the half as
Kira Schuster found the back of the net off a pass from
Izzi Gurney. Schuster's first goal of the season at the 42:11 mark even the game at 1-1.
UTC got the winning goal at 68:07 by Shelby Hash.
UNA was out-shot 11-7 in the match but did have four shots on goal.
North Alabama goalkeeper
Payton Yates recorded five saves.
The Lions face the University of Alabama at 5:00 p.m. Sunday in Tuscaloosa. Â
