FLORENCE, Ala. (October 30, 2023) – North Alabama Men's Tennis completed their final away meets of the 2023 fall season over the weekend at the UTC Steve Baras Invite in Chattanooga, Tenn. and the CCB Collegiate Invite in Birmingham, Ala.
Split between two locations, three Lions competed at the UTC Steve Baras Invite while four were in action at the CCB Collegiate Invite. At UTC, freshman Birtan Duran and sophomore Federico Scotuzzi each finished with three wins (one singles/two doubles) in their respective draws, while freshman Whit Davis earned two singles win in the campaign.
Junior Nazar Fedoryshyn and sophomore Lachlan Brain each competed at the CCB Collegiate Invite, registering seven wins each and winning their respective singles' draws. Freshmen Izan Orgiles and Alberto Altur each tallied a singles and doubles win in to round out action in Birmingham.
After starting with a 6-1, 6-3 win over Grant Landreth of Louisiana to start the Bulldogs Singles Draw, Fedoryshyn secured two wins over Matteo Lataste (6-0, 6-3) and Lun Obrul (6-2, 3-6, 6-3) of Alabama State before claiming the draw with a 7-5, 6-2 victory over Iker Dellien Velasco of UAB.
Brain opened the Red Singles Draw with an 0-6, 6-3, 6-4 victory over Maksim Bogdanovich of Samford before two wins over Sam Bajracharya of Alabama State (6-3, 6-3) and Ondrej Valek of UAB (6-3, 3-6, 6-4) set up a final with Aman Dahiya of Jacksonville State. He would take the draw in a 6-3, 6-4 to complete a 4-0 bracket victory.
Brain and Fedoryshyn also made the final of the Bulldog Doubles draw, taking two early wins against Vojtech Podzemny/Iker Dellien Velasco of UAB (7-6 [11]) and Matis Amier/Alexandre Verlaguet of Alabama State (6-3) before falling to bracket winner's Matias Gaedechens/Juan Diego Rojas Mora of Charleston, 6-4.

UNA Men's Tennis concludes its fall season this weekend on Nov. 3-5 when the Lions host the North Alabama Invitational in Florence, Ala.
