Men’s Tennis ranked No. 63 in Final ITA Polls

Lions end with highest national ranking in DI program history

FLORENCE, Ala. (May 22, 2025) – The International Tennis Association released the final national rankings for Division I men's tennis, with the University of North Alabama ending the season at No. 63 to conclude the campaign.

The Lions add to an already memorable 2025 campaign, earning the program's highest national ranking in the Division I era.

North Alabama earned its first ITA ranking on Feb. 25 at No. 74, then later added ranks of No. 72, No. 69 and No. 68. UNA also earned the distinction of being the lone team from the Atlantic Sun Conference in the polls.

North Alabama's journey into the rankings was hard-earned with the Lions achieving multiple firsts during the program-record year.

The highlight included a regular season and tournament ASUN championship – the first postseason championship for UNA Men's Tennis since 1981. North Alabama's tournament win secured the program's first berth in the NCAA Men's Tennis Championship, where the Lions faced No. 22 Michigan State in the opening round.

UNA achieved a 20-4 record during the regular season, which finished as the most single-season wins in the Division I era and most since the 1988 season. The Lions also went unbeaten against conference competition, going 8-0 in the regular season and 2-0 during the ASUN Tournament.

North Alabama's season culminated in nine postseason honors and awards from the ASUN and College Sports Communicators – also a program record.
