NOTES

Lipscomb Series History: The two schools have met on 10 occasions prior to Thursday's match with Lipscomb holding a 7-3 edge over the Lions. Lipscomb has won the last seven matches between the two teams dating back to 2018. North Alabama's last win came in 2006 when the Lions defeated the Bisons 3-1 in Florence. Lipscomb won the last match played in Nashville, 1-0, in 2021.

Scouting the Bisons: Lipscomb sits in first place in the ASUN with a record of 8-4 (4-0 ASUN). The Bisons are coached by Kevin O'Brien who is in his 12th season with the program. O'Brien has a 124-70-30 record at the helm.

Austin Peay Series History: North Alabama is 0-3 all time against Austin Peay with the last meeting coming in 2022. Sunday's match will be the first-ever contest between the two schools in Clarksville. The Governors won the previous matchup 3-1 in Florence.

Scouting the Governors: Austin Peay enters their Thursday matchup against Central Arkansas with a 4-7-1 record (2-2 ASUN). The Governors are led by head coach Kim McGowan who is in her second season as the head coach of the women's soccer program. McGowan has a record of 7-16-7 heading into the week.

FGCU Recap: North Alabama outshot the Eagles 10-6 and out-earned the Eagles 6-2 on corner kicks but could not overcome a 61st minute goal to suffer their first conference loss of the season. The 1-0 defeat ended an eight-match unbeaten streak for UNA.

ASUN Recap: North Alabama opened up conference play with a 2-0 victory over Kennesaw State. The Lions returned home where they maintained a scoreless draw against Queens and defeated Stetson 2-0. The Lions 2-1-1 start marks the best start of the Division I era. The mark of one point is higher than when North Alabama opened conference play and 2-2-0 (6) in 2018.

Homecoming: Forward Haley Patterson spent her previous two seasons playing at Austin Peay. The junior netted her two career goals with the Governors and made an appearance against UNA in the 2022 meeting between the two schools. Patterson has a goal and an assist so far this season, starting in 10 and appearing in all 13 matches for the Lions this year.

Lions Set Record Unbeaten Streak: From August 27 to Sept. 2, the North Alabama soccer team did not lose a match. They held a record of 6-0-2 across that span. The streak began with a 2-0 victory over Arkansas-Pine Bluff and ended with a 1-0 loss to FGCU. The previous record was set in 2022 at six when UNA began the season 3-0-3.

Standing Strong: North Alabama is nationally-ranked in goals against average. The Lions are 12th in the NCAA, only allowing 0.417 goals per match played. UNA has only allowed five goals in 12 matches played this season. Goalkeeper Adriana Wright has allowed just five goals in 12 games this season and leads the ASUN in goals against average (0.417) and shutouts (7).

Run it Back: In the seventh minute of the FGCU match, the UNA soccer team notched a new Division I program record for consecutive scoreless minutes in a match.  The new record is clocked at 445 minutes without allowing a goal. The Lions broke the old record that was set at 391 minutes earlier this season. The two records were separated by one goal — a penalty shot that came in the 66th minute against Southern Illinois, meaning UNA did not allow a goal while the ball was in play for 836 minutes.
