Men’s Tennis hunts postseason berth this weekend

UNA wraps up regular season against Austin Peay and Bellarmine

FLORENCE, Ala. (April 11, 2024) – The University of North Alabama men's tennis team is set for the final duals of the regular season this weekend against Austin Peay and Bellarmine from the UNA Tennis Complex.

UNA welcomes the Governors on Friday, April 12 at 2 p.m. before ending with a matchup against the Knights on Sunday, April 14 at 3 p.m.

The Lions host the two Atlantic Sun Conference foes after falling at Lipscomb last time out. UNA fell in the final road bout of the regular season, but the Lions overcame a slow start to win three singles matches in the close 4-3 loss. Sophomore Lachlan Brain won the third singles match for the Lions, but Lipscomb secured the team victory with a win from flight two prior to Brain's match being complete.

Despite the defeat, the Lions capped the away portion of the schedule with five wins – the most road wins in the Division I era and the most overall since 2017.

North Alabama heads into the final weekend needing one win to clinch their third ASUN Conference Championship berth. At 13-7, the Lions look to end the regular season on a high note while gaining momentum towards a deep postseason run.

Live stats and streaming will be provided for both duals, with full results and a recap posted on RoarLions.com following the action. Fans can also follow along on the UNA Tennis social media pages.
