Box Score NASHVILLE, Tenn., – Lipscomb broke a 1-1 tie with four straight victories in singles play to grab a 5-2 home victory over the University of North Alabama women's tennis team on Sunday. With the loss, UNA falls to 5-10 on the season and 1-2 in ASUN Conference play.
After the Bisons took an early lead by winning the doubles point, UNA's Payton Andrews tied the score with a 6-2, 6-2 victory at No. 1 singles. It was the fourth straight win at the top spot for the sophomore from Seminole, Fla.
Lipscomb, however, regained the lead with a win at No. 6 singles, then clinched the match with singles victories at the No. 3 and No. 4 positions.
Sidney Flesch made the score 4-2 by rallying for a win at No. 2 singles. After dropping the opener 7-5, she won 6-4 before getting a 10-7 victory in the tiebreaker. The Bisons closed out the match with a win at No. 5 singles.
The UNA women travel to Bellarmine on Thursday. Match time is set for 10 a.m. on the BU campus in Louisville, Ky.
