BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (February 13, 2024) – The University of North Alabama women's tennis team took on the UAB Blazers on Tuesday afternoon, falling 6-1 in Birmingham, Ala.
 

UNA moves to an even 2-2 record on the season, while UAB wins its second dual of the season to move to 2-6.
 

The Blazers took the doubles point with two-straight wins before taking five of the singles matches. Freshman Ada Karabacak got the Lions' lone win in the outing, defeating Mackenzie White 6-0, 6-3 in No. 4 singles.
 

Karabacak and doubles partner Kalais Going had a competitive bout at No. 2 singles, which finished in a 5-4 score. Emma Ansorge and Anoek Pruijmboom also had noteworthy efforts in singles, including a three-set loss for Ansorge in Flight No. 2 that remained tight throughout. Pruijmboom had two close sets at No. 6, falling 7-6, 6-4.
 

The Lions return home for their second dual of the week on Feb. 16 to host Troy. First serve from the UNA Tennis Complex is set for noon.
