A native of Porto Alegre, Brazil, Ferretti is one of just nine student-athletes in school history to be named both All-American and Academic All-America at UNA.

A three-year starter for the Lions from 2003-05, she helped lead the team to the NCAA Division II National Championship in 2003, and to Gulf South Conference championships in 2004 and 2005. UNA had a combined 93-16 record during her three seasons in the program.

Among her more than 30 individual honors that she received during her career at UNA, Ferretti was named to the Gulf South Conference Team of the Decade for 2000-09. A first-team AVCA and Daktronics All-American selection as a senior in 2005, she led the NCAA Division II with 757 kills and was third nationally in kills per game at 5.69 while leading UNA to a 36-2 record. Selected second-team All-GSC in 2003 Ferretti was named first-team All-GSC in 2004 and 2005 and was GSC East Division Player of the Year as a junior and senior. She earned six GSC Player of the Week awards and was 2005 GSC Tournament Most Outstanding Player. She also received first-team AVCA All-South Region honors in 2004 and 2005, was first-team Daktronics All-South Region in 2005, All-South Region Tournament in 2005, AVCA National Player of the Week for Sept. 12, 2005 and honorable mention AVCA All-American in 2004.

An Academic All-GSC selection as a senior in 2005 and a GSC Top 10 honoree, Ferretti was also named CoSIDA Academic All-District and third-team CoSIDA Academic All-America®. She was UNA’s Female Athlete of the Year for 2004-05 and 2005-06 and the 2004 Alabama Sports Writers Association State Small College Athlete of the Year. The Lions were 33-7 in 2003, 24-7 in 2004 and 36-2 in 2005. Prior to coming to UNA, Ferretti played at Independence (Kan.) Community College and was conference freshman of the year.

Following her graduation from UNA in 2006 with a degree in Political Science, Ferretti played professional volleyball in Lleida, Spain at Finques Borrell Camp Escolar. She then served as a graduate assistant volleyball coach at Troy University. At the time of her induction, she and her husband Wess Howell and sons Noah and Ben, live in Dothan, Ala., where she works as a pre-school teacher and coaches the Houston Academy Middle School volleyball team.
